Centralized STAR-GATE system monitoring and diagnostics with automated alerts
The STAR-GATE Health Monitoring subsystem centrally monitors all STAR-GATE components for more proactive maintenance and greater system uptime. It displays hardware, software, and system functionality status using an intuitive, easy-to-understand graphical user interface. Alarms and events are triggered based on user-definable thresholds and are accompanied by detailed troubleshooting information. The system automatically sends alerts internally and/or externally, via email, pager, or SMS. The system status reporting and alert mechanism is based on configurable parameters and thresholds for distinguishing among minor, major and critical alarms.

The STAR-GATE Health Monitoring subsystem is a client/server application based on Microsoft .NET technology and uses SOAP for internal interfaces. It offers advanced GUI controls and reduces dependency on specific browser applications (versions) and configurations.
