Nextiva S4200 Feature Set
The Nextiva S4200 wireless video encoder/transmitter captures images from virtually anywhere with high reliability, excellent imagery, and lower operational costs. The S4200 transmits video using the license-free 2.4 or 5 GHz wireless band or the licensed 4.9 GHz US or Canada public safety band. A built-in, multi-band antenna lets users switch wireless frequencies by reconfiguring the software, rather than having to replace the unit.
High-Quality Images with Lower Cost of Ownership
The S4200 is designed to deliver high-quality images with lower cost of ownership and operation. This wireless transmitter delivers dual-stream, MPEG-4 video up to 4CIF/30fps and incorporates Verint’s industry-leading video encoding technology. The S4200 provides enhanced throughput of up to 28Mbps when using the Verint SPCF protocol, and up to 24 transmitters can be connected to a single access point. These features promote more efficient performance, reducing the amount of equipment required and significantly lowering cost of ownership and operation.
Dual streaming allows video to be viewed at high resolution, but transmitted and recorded at lower frame rates, reducing transport and storage requirements. Additionally, by combining video encoding and wireless transmission in a single device, the S4200 streamlines deployment and reduces the amount of equipment, power, and space needed.
Sophisticated, On-Board Video Analytics
Video analytics support is also available with the Nextiva S4200 wireless encoder/transmitter. The analytics-embedded S4200 makes analytics practical and cost-effective for any number of enterprise cameras. By enabling video to be analyzed at the point of capture, these on-board analytics can rapidly identify important activity with a high degree of accuracy and reduce video transport, storage, and equipment requirements. The Nextiva video analytics portfolio includes a broad array of automated video analysis applications for retail, finance, campus facilities, transportation, and critical infrastructure. (Analytics are licensed separately.)
Reliable and Secure Wireless Video Transmission
SSL-based authentication helps secure configuration access, and AES encryption with rotating 128-bit key protects wireless transmissions from unauthorized interception. Verint’s SPCF/SDCF polling protocol resolves hidden node and quality of service issues that often arise with conventional Wi-Fi 802.11 products. The S4200 supports two modes of operation:
- The Nextiva proprietary SPCF/SDCF protocol (optimized for video surveillance data)
- The standard 802.11a/g protocol and WPA2 personal and enterprise security standards, which allow interoperability with most commercial and mesh access points
Additionally, the S4200 comes with built-in, camera tampering detection, so that users are rapidly alerted when cameras are out of focus. Nextiva camera tampering detection increases the reliability of video systems and helps ensure that critical images are available when needed.
A Robust Point-to-Multipoint Wireless Solution
The Nextiva S4200 wireless video encoder/transmitter is housed in a compact, weatherproof enclosure, which makes it ideal for outdoor applications. When paired with the Nextiva S4300 access point, the S4200 provides a powerful point-to-multipoint solution.
An Ethernet port simplifies configuration and maintenance and allows the S4200 to connect to an IP camera, chemical sensor, infrared wall, or other Ethernet device. The S4200 also features auto-sensing serial ports for connecting to motorized domes, PTZ cameras, and other asynchronous serial device, with an optional connection for a second analog camera.
Manage with Nextiva
The Nextiva S4200 is fully integrated with the Nextiva video solution portfolio, including all Nextiva video management software. The S4200 can be centrally configured and administered using Nextiva Control Center, an easy-to-use management portal, and automatically monitored using Nextiva HealthCheck for greater uptime and lower service costs.
The S4200 is part of the Nextiva wireless video portfolio, which leads the industry in innovation and value. Built on accepted industry standards, these intelligent edge devices are designed for high availability, easy interoperability with IT infrastructure and video systems, and superior performance.
